Urban agriculture is a popular topic across the country (N.B., recent issues of
New York and
Wired picking up on the topic), but it is particularly booming right here in the Motor City. A tour of urban farms and community gardens earlier this month drew over 500.

On August 28 at 4:30 p.m., a bike ride is being held to promote cycling in Detroit called Green Tea. There will be discussion of the Dequindre Cut, Detroit's Non-Motorized Plan and other bike-friendly initiatives. It starts at Rivard Plaza on the Detroit RiverWalk and will head up to Eastern Market.
