Downtown Royal Oak hires more help to push projects forward

If the song title "Mo' Money, Mo' Problems" is accurate then downtown Royal Oak's Mo' Success means Mo' Work. Which is why the city's Downtown Development Authority has created a manager position to help make sure everything still stays on track. Stephanie McIntyre will help push forward the ever-developing downtown's projects and initiatives.

"This will allow the DDA to implement the ideas and resources it has in a quicker fashion," says Kevin Kalczynski, chair of the DDA.

McIntyre, tentatively set to start by the end of the month, will be charged with recruiting and retaining businesses, improving communications with businesses, coordinating special events downtown, supervising maintenance and beautification projects and heading up marketing and promotion efforts.

Starting salary is about $50,000 per year.
